What is a "virtual race"?

A Virtual race (or virtual run) is a great motivational tool and will help you to achieve your personal targets. You can complete each challenge in your own time and at your own pace. You can run, walk or jog on the road, along the beach, at the gym or during another event. You can race alone, with a friend and family, or in a larger group.

An important element of virtual racing is keeping track of your progress and submitting the evidence (explained below). We will post you a finisher’s medal after you upload evidence of your results.

How do I sign up ?

It’s easy. Select from our choice of race events, check what it involves and click on the ‘Register’ button.  

Your selection will be added to your basket.  Once you’re happy with the events you have registered for, click on your basket and follow the purchase instructions. The race fee includes your medal, posted to you on receipt of your evidence. Please check the event carefully before entering as some events will be distance specific and some will be time specific.

What is race evidence and how do I submit it?

You can use a GPS Tracker app on your phone or other tracking device, for example RunKeeper or Strava.  

Take a screenshot of the completed run and upload it via our Send Us Your Evidence page. Please make sure you include the order number you were given when you signed up.  

If you have completed your run on a treadmill, please take a photo of the screen on the machine, during your cool period.  All we need to see is the distance covered.

When do I need to submit race evidence by?

You need to submit your evidence by the end of the calendar month the event takes place. If your evidence is not received by the end of the month you will not receive your medal.

If you can not complete your challenge due to illness and/or injury, please email virtualwarriorenquiries@gmail.com and we can arrange an extension.

Can I complete my run early and submit my evidence?

 No, please don’t do this. Please add the event to your race calendar.

Do I have to complete my challenge in one run?

This is up to you. You can break the total distance down into shorter runs if you like, just don’t forget to send us all the race evidence.

Please do not send the evidence until you have completed the challenge.  If you’ve completed it in two separate runs, please send both photos at the same time.

Am I issued with a race number when I enter?

When you register for an event, you will receive an email with your 6-digit order number; currently starting #203xxx.

Your order number is your race number.

When submitting your evidence, please make sure you enter your race number into the appropriate box.  If you need to contact us, please also include your race number.

You will always find a note of the order/race number for each race you enter on your order confirmation email, and at your My Account page.

When will my medal arrive?

Medals are posted out every Friday, so yours will be on its way the Friday after you have submitted your evidence . Please make sure you have entered the delivery address correctly; you can choose to have a medal shipped to a different address either when you register for an event or when you submit the evidence form.

Postage costs for medals to UK addresses is included in the entry fee. There will be a charge to cover the extra postage cost of medals sent to Europe (from £3.50) and the rest of the world (from £8.35). Find out more at Posting Medals & Merchandise Overseas.

Please note: re delivery of medals

Your medal will be sent to the address you registered with when you booked your race. If you would like your medal sent to a different address, please advise us when you submit your evidence (there is space for this on the evidence submission form).

If you have moved house and not informed us, the medal will have been sent to the original address you registered with. If you would like another medal sent to you, providing we have some spare, we ask for a £5 admin fee to cover the cost of the medal and P+P. In this instance please email us at virtualwarriorenquiries@gmail.com quoting your Order/Race number. 

If I do not complete my run, can I have a refund?

At Virtual Warrior, we have a strict no refund policy.

By entering you are accepting that no refund will be given under any circumstance, unless in the highly unlikely instance of the event being cancelled.

Who can sign up for a virtual run?

Anyone can sign up for any race.  

We do recommend that if you are registering a child to run, an appropriate adult must run with them.

When you sign up for an event, please take your personal safety into serious consideration. By entering our virtual races you are agreeing that any injury or damage that is caused by completing a race is your own responsibility. Virtual Warrior will not be held responsible for any loss or injury that occurs during your run.

Can I enter with my friends?

Of course you can.

If you are planning to sign up a group of 10 people or more, please contact us and we will issue you with a discount code.

Can I enter if I live outside the UK?

Of course you can and we welcome you with open arms.  Please note though that there is an extra delivery charge for medals shipped outside of the UK (from £3.50 for those in Europe, and from £8.35 for the USA and rest of the world). Will all submitted evidence be checked?

Yes it will and please be aware that 4.99km is not 5km and 9.99km is not 10km! 

On occasions, my Runkeeper App has told me that I have completed 5km but when I check the map, it’s been recorded as 4.9km. We recommend completing a little over the race distance to be on the safe side.
